The first thing that you need to know is when normally does a parrot scream? All birds in general have an innate tendency to scream in the mornings just after they get up from sleep. They also will take to screaming when the time for sun set is near. Scientific reasons aside, it seems that birds really love to say good morning and good night to the sun. it just seems to be built into their systems. However, basically these calls are meant for the flock and here we are their flock. Birds call their flocks to roost and to feed and this is the reason behind the morning and evening calls. So donot get disturbed by it, encourage your pet to do it or else join in yourself. It will be fun and will get your parrot comfortable whenever you are around. But what you need to do almost immediately is get yourself a bird journal. Make a diary where you will note down every single detail of your bird screaming. These details include what the bird and the family members were doing before it started screaming, while it was screaming and after it stopped screaming. Do this for several days and then analyse if there are any patterns or not. You will be astonished to find that there will be one particular incident like any family member going to the kitchen which has initiated the screaming. Once you locate this incident you will have to train the bird to accept it. Many a time parrots scream because someone is in the kitchen. This is a very common parrot scream reason and the explanation is, it feels left out and believes that a member of his “flock” is foraging or eating without sharing it with him. To solve this problem you can keep the pet near the kitchen and when he starts to scream throw a little bit to him and keep him happy. Parrots may also scream if they cannot see any member of their “flock” and you have to train them likewise.
